The Lyric Theatre

Members volunteer at the historic lyric theater to assist with concessions, the bar and ticketing. The Blacksburg Junior Women’s Club has a long history of partnership with the Lyric Theatre going back to at least 1959 when they sponsored a showing of a movie starring Lassie and the twenty cent admission fee went toward state and local projects championed by GFWC BJWC.

Fashions for Evergreens

Each holiday season the club decorates a tree lining the hallways of the Inn at Virginia Tech. In past years it has been an advertisement for our March of Ales fundraiser. Over the past years it has highlighted the work of our club, advertised our period product drive and highlighted our local teachers who go above and beyond!

Past Projects

Over the years we have done numerous projects that support the arts & culture of our community. We have supported Blacksburg Ballet’s annual Nutcracker production, hosted craft booths for kids Summer Solistice and more.
